How do I create a home made mosquito killer?

I want to create a home made brew that I can spray around the yard and the outer walls of my house

1. I have heard that fresh basil keeps mosquitoes away. I don't know for sure if it works or not but you could just plant some around your house and not worry about having to spray anything. I have some basil in my herb garden which is right next to a cattle water tank and I haven't seen any mosquitoes around it. Lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, catnip, and peppermint also repel mosquitoes. Hope this helps you.
