Bug Zapper Racket

making an electric rat trap?

Does anyone know where to go for a good pattern on making a battery operated rat trap? Like the rat zapper works? Thank you.......................

1. . My father made a simple one for a bear once. It worked well. One garbage can, a steel plate one wire on each. When the bear stood up on the plate and put his paws the the can "contact." Tried it twice and never came back. I guess it is more of a repellent.
